Kupwara, May 20 (KNO): In a brazen violation of government’s directive three teachers from Kupwara have refused to join their new postings after being transferred nearly a month ago. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that Education department ordered transfer of almost three dozen teacher nearly a month ago. “All of them joined new postings but three of them are openly defying government orders by not joining new postings,” they said. The open defiance of government order has also affected teachers who were transferred from Boys High School Keran after completing their tenure. Talking to New Agency—KNO, two teachers, Javaid Ahmad and Muhammad Ashraf, who were earlier posted at Boys High Schol Keran said their transfer orders were withheld due to refusal of these teachers to join new postings. “We came to know that the replacements sent at our place of posting are refusing to comply with the order. Why should we suffer due to them? “they asked. When contacted, head master of the concerned School said that these teachers did not join their new posting. “Even after waiting for almost over a month, no one of them approached my office for joining,” he said, adding that he has written to the Chief Education Officer about the non-compliance of the orders. He said only one teacher has joined out of four teachers posted here. “Out of the four, only one has joined .I am not sure whether their orders have been modified,” he said, adding that teachers transferred from the school are suffering due to non-joining of the three. He, however, said he cannot relieve them without their replacement joining the school. Meanwhile Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Abdul Hamid told KNO that the teachers are unable to join due to lockdown. “They were supposed to join earlier but due to lockdown it is taking time and earlier the road to Keran was also closed,” he said. When asked about non-compliance report filed by the headmaster, he evaded direct answer.“Due to lockdown some of the employees couldn’t join and will be joining shortly,” he said—(KNO)
